Cowboys make early case for championships

The eighth-graders have ruled the early winter sports season at Camp Verde Middle School.

Tanna Decker and Destiny Dowdle helped keep the girls team undefeated through three games, while Jason Collier propelled the boys team to its second win as the Camp Verde Middle School basketball teams swept Mayer Elementary School on Thursday, Nov. 19.

Another eighth-grader, Korben Uhler, carried a CVMS wrestling team struggling with eligibility issues to ninth place out of 21 teams Nov. 14 at the 24th annual Mingus Mountain Wrestling Tournament.
