Expect SR89A lane closure for next two weeks

Published:

ADOT has issued a right-of-way permit to Porter Brothers and Arizona Water Company to install utility lines on eastbound State Route 89A for the Marriott Hotel project, which is being built on the southeast corner of Upper Rock Rock Loop Road and State Route 89A.

The work will consist of a single lane closure in the eastbound direction starting approximately 1,600 feet west of Upper Red Rock Loop Road with an anticipated duration of seven to 10 days, although the foreman on the site Wednesday, Nov. 18, said he expected the closure to last for the next two weeks.

The traffic control set up will be in place for 24 hours per day over the seven to 10 days. The delay will depend on the time of day. During peak hours, drivers may anticipate 10- to 20-minute delays. The contractor isn’t planning on flagging at this time.
