There are some people who have a talent for writing.
They just might not have a talent for getting motivated to write.
Not to mention, it’s always nice to have a group of people to bounce ideas off of and get a little practical feedback.
To that end, a new writers’ group has started meeting monthly at the Beaver Creek Library inside the Beaver Creek School.
There are other writing groups that meet in the Verde Valley, but some of those are during the workweek.
Meeting in Beaver Creek makes it more convenient for writers to meet locally instead of having to drive to Camp Verde or Cottonwood.
The group had its first meeting on Saturday, Sept. 26.
Organizer Susan McClary said she did her best to get the word out about the new group.
Her efforts apparently were successful as people continued to fill the room.
This being the first meeting, it was a lot about introductions and why people feel the need to write.
