The Camp Verde Marshal’s Office has started issuing detailed summaries of calls answered during different shifts.
A record of calls answered in June was released this month as part of a regular packet of data covering the activities of most departments in the Town of Camp Verde.
The marshal’s office for years has been releasing summaries of the types of calls answered but has recently started issuing these more detailed reports to the media and public.
Police reports have always been available to the public under Arizona’s public records law but this is an effort to make the release of information more streamlined.
“The Camp Verde Marshal’s Office values the working partnership with the media as a resource to communicate with the public on matters of importance,” CVMO Chief Administrative Assisant Darby Martin wrote when she announced the new weekly information sharing plan. “In the attempt to keep both the community and the media informed, local media outlets will be receiving a shift summary report.”
Some of the information covers events like deputies responding to minor disputes between neighbors.
Others include noise complaints and things like reported disorderly conduct, as in the case of Robert Tinney, who was taken to the Yavapai County Detention Center in Camp Verde June 28 after allegedly engaging in “disruptive behavior.”
Some days are obviously busier than others, at least in terms of the number of calls.
June 27, for instance, was busy, with deputies responding to an alarm on Main Street that turned out to be malfunctioning, investigating criminal damage reported to a fence on Derby Drive, serving a warrant on Jordan Wright for failure to appear in a Prescott Valley court matter, making an arrest for methamphetamine possession, investigating a dead body found in a yard on Robin Lane — possibly dying from a medical condition — along with several traffic stops.
Other incidents investigated throughout the month included reports of theft, burglary and domestic violence.
