Eliza Talas has been coming to the area for years but has only recently become a Verde Valley resident.
Tucked away off of Main Street, a hand-painted sign guides people to her shop.
The sign says “Bead” and it’s a bit of an understatement.
Inside the shop, which somehow seems bigger on the inside, shelves and racks are covered with countless strings of beads of every color imaginable, made of crystal, plastic and other materials.
It’s Cosmic Beads and Talas has been running her shop for about a month and a half in its current location.
Talas said she had another location a little further up the road near the cemetery but moved to the new site not too long ago.
It may be a little off the beaten path, but a fairly steady stream of customers seemed to come through the doors last Wednesday afternoon.
A sign on the wall reminds people that lowlifes that steal from her will receive a curse, which depending on the offense, may involve differing levels of wrath.
There are other craft materials as well and in a back room behind the rows of beads are shelves of books.
