Signs can help Clarkdale tourism

Published:

The town of Clarkdale is looking at ways to make it easier for visitors to get around town.

While the town isn’t large, signs pointing the way to local attractions or points of interest can help people who aren’t familiar with the area.

The Clarkdale Community Development Department has been working on possibilities for new signs and where they should be placed since July.

Signs already exist in some places around town.

“The format of the signs will be similar with the directional signs changing as needed,” according to a report from Jodie Filardo, economic and community development director for Clarkdale.

The signs would guide people to shopping and dining, town offices, parks and other attractions.

The signs would also be potentially mounted in bronze-colored metal frames, according to the report.

After working with the Downtown Clarkdale Business Alliance, local business owners are eager to move forward with the project, according to the report.

The business alliance “seemed delighted.”
