The Town of Camp Verde received a clean audit for the 2013-14 fiscal year.
The fiscal year ended June 30. The results of the audit were reviewed by the Town Council at a Jan. 21 meeting.
The audit was carried out by Colby and Powell, a Gilbert-based accounting firm.
“We perform 17 municipal audits around the state,” said Scott Graff, a certified public accountant with the firm.
Graff said there is a staff of six that checks the financial statements of various towns and cities throughout the year.
Graff said his job was to verify that the information on finances provided by the town was accurate.
“We check to ensure that the information is free from material misstatements,” Graff said.
The audit came in at 101 pages.
Graff said another part of his job is to look for any evidence of fraud, large or small.
“‘Fraud’ is a scary word,” Graff said. “We are happy to say there were no frauds discovered during the audit, so that’s always good news.”
