Camp Verde Middle School needs players.
Both boys head coach Donnie Shanks and girls head coach Steve Stone go into their Verde Valley League tournaments with crossed fingers.
Four of Shanks’ starting five players were battling eligibility issues as recently as Tuesday, Jan. 27, while eighth-grade sharpshooter Hope Ontiveros injured her shoulder for the second time this season in a Jan. 20 home loss to league champion Big Park Community School.
