Allred does it again at Mile High

Published:

Ryan Allred stayed undefeated in match play as a senior, winning his 30th match for Camp Verde High School on the way to being named most outstanding wrestler for the third tournament this season Saturday, Jan. 3, at the Mile High Challenge.

Both Allred, at 152 pounds, and fellow senior Jeremy McEachern took home individual titles from the Prescott Valley Events Center at what head coach Tracey Tudor described as an “exceptionally tough tournament.”

In the championship round of the two-day, 36-team invitational, both Allred and McEachern pinned all of their opponents, with Allred needing no more than 1:47 to win the championship by taking down Joshua Pine of Palo Verde High School, from Tucson.

A three-time state champion for CVHS, Allred is looking to make history by not only becoming the first Cowboys wrestler to win four state titles in four years, but doing it by taking down every one of his opponents this season in less than five minutes.
