The town of Clarkdale and Arizona State Parks have closed the Lower TAPCO River Access Point and the Tuzigoot River Access Point to vehicular access for the remainder of this week.
The closures are necessary to protect the areas from damage caused by vehicles driving on muddy roads and driveways, which can create deep ruts and change natural drainage patterns. The temporary closure is the best way to protect the roads, park resources and to keep the public safe.
Warming weather will allow driving and parking surfaces to dry during the week, and will give the town of Clarkdale’s Public Works Department time to repair surfaces that were impacted during last week’s snow storm.
Both access points will reopen to vehicular traffic on Saturday, Jan. 10, by 8 a.m.
