Susi Thompson enjoys reading. A lot.

“It takes up a lot of my spare time,” Thompson said.

Thompson was continuing to fuel the habit last week at the annual book sale in downtown Camp Verde, where proceeds go to benefit the library.

Thompson was cradling a large number of paperbacks in her arms, most if not all of them were written by Nora Roberts.

Roberts, a prolific author of books in the romance genre, has more than 200 titles to her name.

This shopping trip was to refresh her supply.

Roberts said on her previous trip, she brought back 14 books.

“I just burned through my last one,” Thompson said.

Thompson said that she usually can finish one of the books in around three days.

“That’s if it hooks me,” Thompson said.

While Thompson reads other authors, she said the tales Roberts pens are definitely her favorite.

Thompson was also planning to make a stop by the book sale’s children’s section to pick up a few things for her young grandchildren, ages 2 and 4.
