CVMO reports drop in crime

Published:

The Camp Verde Marshal’s Office responded to fewer calls last month than it did in September 2013, according to numbers released last week from the Town of Camp Verde.

Deputies were busier in some areas, however.

The office made 171 traffic stops for the month of September, up from 146 stops during the same month last year.

The office also responded to 13 reports of criminal damage, up from five during September 2013.

Criminal damage can include everything from damage to property to graffiti on a building.

There was one report of a vehicle burglarized during the month, the same as last September.

Responses to reports of domestic violences were down for the same period.

Deputies reported 17 domestic violence calls, down only slightly from the 19 reported over the same time last year.

Residential burglaries reported were also down from last September, with deputies investigating four burglaries, down from eight.

The Camp Verde Animal Control department, which operates through the marshal’s office, responded to 27 calls in September down from 36 in September 2013.
