On Wednesday, Oct. 8, just after noon, a Wal-Mart employee received several calls from as a yet unidentified male, referencing a possible bomb on the premises.
The store began an evacuation and called Cottonwood Police Department. Once the evacuation was complete, police searched the store for anything deemed suspicious or out of the ordinary.
Cottonwood Police Spokesperson, Det. Sgt. Tod Moore said, “It does not appear at this time this was a valid threat. However we take these calls seriously and the investigation into who made these calls is ongoing. Wal-Mart employees did a fantastic job to secure the safety of their patrons.”
At this time the content of the threats was not being released.
