The town of Clarkdale has been recognized with an environmental efforts on what the town has dubbed the Verde River@Clarkdale project.
The town received the award last month at a ceremony to mark the 34th annual Arizona Forward Environmental Excellence.
The awards are organized by Arizona Forward, a group that works with businesses and communities to promote environmental sustainability here in the Grand Canyon State, and the Salt River Project.
The environmental health of the Verde River is certainly important to SRP, which depends on its water to help keep the faucets flowing for residents in the Valley of the Sun.
Clarkdale was awarded the group’s Crescordia award, which according to a statement from Town Manager Gayle Mabery’s office, is considered the “first-place award for projects that set standards for exceptional physical, technical and social development of our state.”
