The Cottonwood Historic Preservation Commission is preparing for a tour of historic homes.

It’s the first such tour in Cottonwood and organizers hope for the event to grow in the future.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 8.

All proceeds from ticket sales are planned to go to the restoration project at the old civic center in Old Town.

“We’ve never had one here in Cottonwood before,” said Tim Elinski, Cottonwood city councilman and a member of the preservation commission.

One of the goals of the commission is to promote economic development in Old Town, Elinski said, and the home tour will hopefully further that goal.

Other home tours are conducted in neighboring towns like Clarkdale and Jerome.
