Anita Villalobos was at the book sale last Thursday, held in the Rio Verde Plaza shopping center, where proceeds go to benefit the Camp Verde Library.
Villalobos was there to help benefit her kitchen.
She had a selection of cookbooks she was going to buy that were filled with new recipes to try.
“I’m a bit of a foodie,” Villalobos said.
Villalobos has been in the Verde Valley for just about four years after a friend convinced her to move to the area.
She was aware of the Verde Valley, having traveled to the area, Sedona mostly, back when the town was less known and was also quite a bit smaller.
“You could go to Slide Rock and you would be alone,” Villalobos said.
Before that, she spent 40 years in Phoenix, a city that still holds a special place in her heart.
“I love Phoenix,” Villalobos said.
Yes, it gets hot in Phoenix, Villalobos said.
“But it gets hot here,” she added.
