The Mingus Union High School football team returned from its Irvine, Calif., camp with plenty of competition for the skill positions and between the massive lines.
But question marks still need to be ironed out to determine who will start at most positions going into the Marauders’ opener Friday, Aug. 29, at Snowflake High School.
Three things are for certain after two-a-day practices concluded July 27 — no more beach time, no more long hills to run and the next Taylor Swift song any freshman will have to sing will be too soon.
“Tyler had to sing that one morning,” assistant coach Pete Kelly said of his son, a freshman backup quarterback. “I’m sure it kicked their butt.”
