Mingus library joins network

Published:

A grant from the Arizona State Library will go toward adding the library at Mingus Union High School to the Yavapai County Library Network.
The Yavapai County Board of Supervisors approved acceptance of the grant at its July 21 meeting.

The grant, in the amount of $17,339, will help integrate the school’s library materials into the county-wide collection.

The integration process means that anyone with a library card at a county-affiliated library can take advantage of its services.

The network is funded through the Yavapai County Free Library District, established in 1987 by the board of supervisors in order to help connect libraries across the county.

The network itself was initially created in 1985 as a collaborative effort between Yavapai College and the Prescott Public Library.

Today the network includes around 50 libraries across the county, including municipal libraries, public school libraries and other institutional libraries.
