On Saturday morning, May 17, the Verde Valley Fire Foundation held a pancake breakfast for the community at Fire Station No. 31 at State Route 260 and Godard Road.
Community members in attendance were asked to donate $5 per adult and $1 per child for a helping of flapjacks and scrambled eggs with coffee and orange juice.
Money raised by the VVFF will go toward the purchase of new equipment for the Verde Valley Fire District, as has been the case since the organization’s inception.
Verde Valley Fire District Fire Chief Nazih Hazime said the goal of the fundraiser breakfast was to purchase new GPS equipment and software that will allow firefighters to access fire locations and calls directly from their phones and in their vehicles, allowing them to more efficiently respond to emergencies.
