Saw horses race at Bootlegger’s Derby

Published:

Main Street through historic Old Town was blocked off for much of the day during Run For The Roses Cottonwood Bootleg Derby on Saturday, May 3, as people shopped, ate and browsed at stores and a fine arts and vintage faire in the Old Jail.

The two-day event also included a horseshoe tournament and a raffle for a classic Jeep CJ5. The raffle, as well as a silent auction, benefitted Connections Equine Therapy. About 40 sawhorses created and decorated by Cottonwood businesses participated in the derby, which was run on Main Street. The weekend kicked off Friday night with the Bootleggers Ball featuring the Sammy Davis Band at the civic center.
