Mingus students enter art show

Published:

Over the weekend, the public was welcome to view art as varied and high-quality as some professional galleries. From a cat with steampunk head gear to a photograph of a student holding a $9 bill with President Barack Obama’s face, these works not only expressed creativity but gave a voice to the artists’ values.

This art show, though, was put on by students throughout the Verde Valley at Sedona Red Rock High School’s cafeteria.

The 24th annual Northern Arizona Student Art Show, hosted by the Northern Arizona Watercolor Society, ran from Saturday, April 26, to Sunday, April 27, culminating in an awards ceremony for those recognized specifically in the show.

Twelve schools participated in the event and the cafeteria was packed with all different media, both 2D and 3D.
