The Confederacy and the Union joined forces for a short time this weekend at Fort Verde State Historic Park for the History of the Soldier on Saturday and Sunday, April 12 and 13. A few British redcoats were around to help as well.
For a decade, re-enactors and history buffs have come together at the Fort each spring to celebrate the History of the Soldier, an event that shows visitors a little piece of living history.
The fort was active during the Indian Wars period of the late 19th century, and visitors will got to see examples of life in the armed forces during this time in history.
