Tax collection results for last month were mixed across the Verde Valley.

Cottonwood and Jerome posted higher numbers of transaction taxes compared with the same month last year, while Camp Verde and Clarkdale showed decreases over the same period.

Transaction taxes, collected by the state, are generated across a wide range of economic sectors ranging from real estate deals and utilities to retails sales and restaurant receipts.

Numbers for February were released this month by the Arizona Department of Revenue Office of Economic Research and Analysis.
