Town to rezone Clark Mansion

Long standing as a landmark in Clarkdale, the Clark Mansion was a fixture in the Verde Valley.

That is, until the mansion was destroyed by fire June 25, 2010, under circumstances authorities classified as suspicious.

Built in the 1920s for William Clark III, the grandson of the William Clark who gave Clarkdale its name in the days of copper mining, the house sat on around five acres of land near Pecks Lake, by the intersection of Sycamore Canyon and Tuzigoot roads.
