The city of Cottonwood last week approved an $80,000 contract with Arrington Watkins, a Phoenix-based architectural firm, for the administration of construction of a new Emergency Communications Center.

The initial design phase cost $197,125 and was approved last year.

The City Council had previously budgeted $350,000 for this phase from the capital
improvements fund.

The city has set aside 2.7 acres to build the new center, a vacant lot behind the current public safety
building on Sixth Street.
