Cottonwood generates more tax revenue

Published:

Economic activity was up in Cottonwood last month compared with November 2012, while activity in other communities overall remained largely static for the month.

Transaction taxes are revenues collected by the state generated across a wide range of economic sectors, ranging from real estate deals and utilities, to retails sales and restaurant receipts.

Numbers for November were released this month by the Arizona Department of Revenue Office of Economic Research and Analysis.

The state recorded collecting $981,089 in November across all economic sectors.
That’s up from $938, 912 over the same period a year prior.

Retail sales tax collections saw a fairly significant boost, by nearly $20,000 over November 2012, with just over $649,000 collected.
