The Montezuma-Rimrock Fire District and the Camp Verde Fire District are finalizing efforts to share services.

Those services include using the same group of reserve firefighters.

“We’ve put together an intergovernmental agreement to share part-time firefighters,” said Terry Keller, fire chief of the Montezuma-Rimrock Fire District.

The districts, which depend on property taxes for primary funding, have been looking to find ways to continue to provide services in recent years as the economy took a hit and revenues have been down, leaving budgets strained.
