Communities and governments in the Verde Valley are in the process of finalizing agreements to widen State Route 260 between Cottonwood and I-17 in Camp Verde.
That includes agreements between Cottonwood, Clarkdale, Sedona, Jerome, Yavapai County and the Yavapai-Apache Nation. The goal is to see the road upgraded to a four-lane divided highway.
The current effort was jump-started by the Town of Camp Verde earlier this year, which hired a consulting firm to help push the initiative forward.
