Camp Verde collects more in sales taxes

Published:

Taxes collected by the state were up in most of the municipalities in the Verde Valley in September.

Transaction taxes are revenues collected by the state generated across a wide range of economic sectors ranging from real estate deals and utilities to retail sales and restaurant receipts.

Numbers for September were released this month by the Arizona Department of Revenue Office of Economic Research and Analysis.

Boosts in retail trade sales taxes helped push the numbers up over the same time last year, as people are spending more money in the Verde Valley.
