The Clarkdale Town Council listened last week as a grassroots group expressed concern about smart meters, which monitor electricity usage and transmit the data back to the power company.
Representatives from Sedona Smart Meter Awareness made a presentation at the council’s
Oct. 8 meeting ahead of the deployment of the meter in Clarkdale and other parts of the Verde Valley, planned for sometime in 2014.
“It was interesting to me to hear the information,” Clarkdale Mayor Doug Von Gausig said. “A lot of people spoke from several different communities in the Verde Valley.”
