Soccer camp teaches kids fun-damentals

Published:

Cottonwood kids are getting their kicks at Riverfront Park this week.

The most popular soccer camp in the country — The British Soccer Camp — is back again this summer, showing kids from 3 to 16 years of age about the game of soccer, and teaching them skills they can use at any level of competition.

More than 1,200 of the camp’s coaches have helped to develop one of the most innovative approaches to coaching youth soccer in the United States.

Their experienced staff studies the game at all levels, and they have identified the key techniques and skills that players need to work on and master to reach their true potential, according to the camp’s website.

The camps are divided up into four age groups:

? Half-Day Camps are for 6- to 16-year-olds and emphasize the development of individual skills and techniques.

? Full-Day Camps are for 10- to 18-year-olds and are for serious players, focusing on advanced techniques and tactical development.
