VVMC graduates its three physician residents

Published:

Verde Valley Medical Center completed the first chapter in its new role as a teaching hospital Saturday, June 15, as three physician residents celebrated their graduation from the center’s Residency Program at a gala event at the Yavapai College Verde Valley Campus in Clarkdale.

“Our residency program has stepped up the caliber of medicine offered at Verde Valley Medical Center. In order for our medical staff to train future doctors, they have to be knowledgeable of the latest and greatest in medicine,” Interim President and CEO Barbara Dember said.

The program — only in existence since 2010 — is part of a partnership with Midwestern University that maintains a class size of 12 and will see four residents graduate each year.
