Ebert signs to play at Arizona Christian University

Published:

A Mingus Union basketball star is set to continue her basketball career at the collegiate level.

Seairah Ebert, a three-time varsity basketball letterman, signed her national letter of intent to be the newest Firestorm athlete at Arizona Christian University, making her the second basketball player from the Verde Valley to sign with the program this year.

Ebert received both a basketball and academic scholarship that, together, will allow her to attend the private university essentially tuition free.

The fact that Camp Verde High School basketball star Amanda Showers signed with Arizona Christian University back in January sealed Ebert’s decision.

“I wanted to go to a Christian school,” Ebert said. “And [the recruiting] all just happened, I think, because of Amanda. Her and I played in middle school together, and having her there was a big part of my decision.”

Ebert had offers from schools in California and Utah, but Arizona Christian felt just right after her tryout, even though at the time, the tryout felt disastrous.
