The Verde River can be a source of artistic inspiration for many — the water that runs through the desert and serves as a source of life and provides much of the green that gives the Verde Valley its name.
To help artists get right in the heart of the river, the Verde Valley Land Preservation Institute sponsored a trip down the river for a group of 25 artists.
Artist Wendy Harford brought the idea here to Arizona after experiencing a similar expedition into nature with fellow artists in the Pacific Northwest, part of an effort to preserve some our nation’s valuable natural landscape.
