At the Sedona Friendship Invitational, which included some of the toughest competitors in Northern Arizona Division III track and field, the Camp Verde track team ran, jumped and threw to personal records March 20, at Sedona Red Rock High School, and then excelled at the Matt Showers Memorial Meet, Saturday, March 23, at Camp Verde High School.
The Cowboys, just back from spring break, proved that hard work does pay off.
“I was happy with everybody at the [Sedona Friendship Invitational],” Head Coach Lori Showers said. “I was worried about spring break, but all of the older kids practiced during that week with no meet, and that showed in their times.”
The athletes faced strong gusts of wind and dropping temperatures throughout the evening.
