Old jail may get new parking lot

Published:

The city of Cottonwood is looking to bring more parking to Old Town. The city’s staff is looking at improving an area near the Old Town Jail, according to a report filed by Cottonwood Development Services Director Dan Lueder.

The building itself has been restored, and the city wants to continue to make things a little bit nicer in Old Town. The jail may also soon be home to a shop with easy access to the nearby Jail Trail.

“With the completion of the rehabilitation of the Old Town Jail, the next step in this project is construction of a new parking lot around the jail on the former Gardner property north of Yavapai Street,” the report stated.
