One of the Marauders’ most heated rivals tried to take revenge on them Thursday night, Jan. 17, but the Marauders forced them to mark down another loss.
The Mingus Union girls soccer team [10-3] went up against the sturdy defense of the Sedona Red Rock Scorpions [8-6], but the Marauders beat the Scorpions for the second time this season, 1-0, on Sedona’s soccer field.
“The performance of my girls was quite good, although we had a difficult time finishing,” Marauders Head Coach Bud Rhodes said. “Since our front forward [Gabi Guerro] has been out all season with an [anterior cruciate ligament] tear, we’ve been scrambling on finishing. We also had opportunities which we didn’t capitalize on.
“The Sedona girls played with their hearts and souls in. They had better organization than the game before and tried hard to win. It was a good, tight match.”
