Marauders get 1-point win over Scorpions in overtime

The Marauders dazed their rivals in a comeback win by one in overtime.

The Mingus Union Marauders [4-12] beat their cross-valley rivals, the Sedona Red Rock Scorpions [8-7], 54-53, in the first of two meetings between the teams this season, on Monday, Jan. 15, at Mingus Union High School. The game went into overtime after the Marauders, who trailed by as much as 12 points, climbed their way back into the game in the third quarter, and kept the momentum until the end.

“[I am] very proud,” Marauders Head Coach Art Moncibaez said. “We’ve been having a hard time getting some wins, and this is a good one.”
