Cottonwood agrees to dog park changes

The city of Cottonwood is moving forward with additional changes to the dog park at Riverfront Park to help alleviate complaints expressed by nearby residents over smell and noise.

One such complainant is Jeanice Allen, a Cottonwood resident who lives about 75 feet from the park. Allen, who has owned her property since 1958, said she’s had problems with the noise to the point where it’s disrupted her life.

The city has already taken some measures to address the problems, including oiling a squeaky gate and adding a pad to the gate’s latch to quiet the sound of it closing against the metal fence.
