Geocaching is a modern-day treasure hunt

Published:

A new kind of recreational activity is increasing in popularity and it’s no wonder why: it’s a modern day treasure hunt.

Geocaching is a free outdoor recreational activity in which players use a GPS, smartphone and other navigational techniques to hide and seek hidden containers, called geocaches.

Those new to geocaching can download a smartphone app to find the hidden treasures. There are several hundred free apps as well as paid versions with more features such as the size of the geocache, the difficulty of finding it, how close it is and any hints or riddles to finding them.Players navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache hidden in that area.
