Council reviews town repair jobs

Published:

Tennis courts, water systems and rubber tires were all on the list reviewed last week by the Camp Verde Town Council as it briefly reviewed some of the town’s goals over the next few years.

They were all projects tentatively scheduled to be carried out in the town’s capital improvement plan, a road map of sorts that identifies what the town wants to invest in in terms of infrastructure improvements and other acquisitions.

The plan was originally approved by the Town Council in April, the first such plan since 2001.

Town Manager Russ Martin went over the list at the Town Council’s meeting Sept. 26 to see if there were any projects in the plan the town’s elected leaders would like to talk more about in the future.

“We have, to a certain extent, been in a reactionary mode for a while because of finances,” Martin said, speaking about tires for town vehicles and equipment. “This will help us get out ahead of that.”

The plan will also give the town a general guide as to what it can expect to see coming down the road.

Of course, things change from year to year. What may seem like a great project for 2016 might not be so appealing when that year actually arrives.
