Cowboys fell short of playoffs last year, hope to regain momentum

Published:

After watching their state playoff chances disappear at the end of the 2011 season, the Camp Verde High School boys soccer players are coming back with a dynamite team.

The Cowboys missed the playoffs last fall, the first time in Head Coach Dave Miller’s 20 years of coaching.

“We had some early unfortunate losses that haunted us in the end,” Miller said. “There were a lot of woulda-coulda-shoulda games.”

This year, things will change. Miller said he and his players hope to return to the competitive team they have been, and the experience and team unity the players already possess will help them get there.

Four seniors, an extraordinary junior class, a group of talented sophomores and a good-looking freshman class will make up the rebuilding team.
