Coach says young team possesses talent to do well at state

Published:

The Camp Verde High School girls soccer team made it to the state playoffs in the 2011 season, and this season, the team is planning to take it one step further.

The Cowboys won the Division IV, Section I region, but it was knocked out in the first round of the state playoffs.

“We lost to the team that won state,” Head Coach Pat Allen said. “We gave them a good game.”

Allen is returning as head coach as is his coaching partner, Mike Reamer.

“Pat does a great job,” said Mark Showers, athletic director for CVHS. “He runs the administrative aspect and Reamer runs the training part. They make a great team.”

The team has two seniors, but neither one played on the CVHS soccer team before — one is an exchange student from Sweden.

Six varsity girls are returning.
