Camp Verde’s thin blue line is about to change color. In all honestly, it was more brown to begin with.
The Camp Verde Marshal’s Office will be rolling out into the streets Aug. 1 in brand new uniforms.
Gone are the khaki-colored outfits the town’s residents have been accustomed to seeing. In their place, deputies will be sporting new all-black uniforms.
The decision was made by a uniform committee recently formed by Marshal Nancy Gardner.
“The uniform committee felt the drastic change in uniform color would bring long-time needed uniformity throughout the department resulting in a more professional appearance” said Darby Martin, public information officer for the marshal’s office. “Marshal Gardner agrees with the uniform change and believes the increase in the officers’ morale, confidence and pride will be carried over into the field.”
