Pink fire trucks returning to Verde Valley

Published:

Once a year for the past three years, bright pink fire trucks have made their way through the Verde Valley spreading the message that men and women can support each other when it comes to fighting breast cancer.

It’s not only about cancer, though, as the “Guardians of the Ribbon” point out, it’s about demonstrating the power of volunteerism when it comes to pulling together for a cause.

The Guardians of the Ribbon, founded by a retired firefighter, have been conducting the annual Pink Heals tour since its founding in 2007. For nearly three weeks, men with the volunteer organization take the time to drive pink fire trucks and police cars across the country to spread their message of awareness.

Founded in Arizona, the group now has chapters around the nation that have picked up the banner.
