Margie Beach has found herself a new place in the Verde Valley as the new director of communications and community relations at Rainbow Acres, Camp Verde’s home for developmentally disabled adults affectionately known as “ranchers.”
While Beach is new at Rainbow Acres, she certainly isn’t new to Arizona. A third-generation resident of the Grand Canyon State, Beach said one of her ancestors was an early Anglo Scottsdale resident who moved here hoping the dry climate would help his tuberculosis.
Her great-grandmother worked in the state as a postmistress.
Beach herself came to Cottonwood when she was 7 years old when her dad got a job working in copper. Her family ended up working at the old Union 76 station in Old Town.
