Crawdad Festival splashes into town

Published:

After a brief disappearance, the Crawdad Festival is returning to Camp Verde this weekend. It’s just taking on a different form.

Bill Lee had some experience with the Crawdad Festival back when he was Camp Verde’s Town Manager. Now he’s the manager down in Somerton, but he still runs a restaurant in Camp Verde.

The Verde Valley Ranger Mounted Sheriff’s Posse tried to keep the popular festival alive, but it just wasn’t financially feasible enough to keep it going.

Lee was sad to see the festival go, so after giving it some thought, he’s giving it a shot.

Lee has put together plans for a two-day Crawdad Festival, Friday and Saturday, June 1 and 2, on property at 212 W. Finnie Flat Road.
