Arlo G. “Chip” Davis, Yavapai County’s District 3 supervisor for the last 16 years, says this next term will be his last.
Assuming Davis wins re-election — he’s currently running unopposed for his fifth term — he will have served as supervisor for 20 years.
Davis said he plans to spend more time with his parents, who own a ranch homesteaded by the family in the 1880s on the Prescott side of Mingus Mountain near the community of Wagner. Coincidentally, Davis’ parents and their ranch are not in his district.
Although he’ll be leaving county government, Davis plans to make a difference in the county and the state. He also hasn’t ruled out other options, including a possible future run for the Arizona State Legislature.
“I’d like to bring a little civility to the body,” Davis said.
