Mingus offers arts program

Published:

In an effort to promote learning through student interests, Mingus Union High School will offer an Arts and Humanities program for incoming freshmen beginning with the 2013-14 school year.

The program, approved by the school board at its regular meeting April 12, will promote academic rigor and college preparedness by offering students integrated studies centered around visual, musical or theater arts.

“The program is another opportunity for students to integrate learning, and it overlays the national common core curriculum,” Mingus Union High School Principal Tamara Addis said.
