The town of Clarkdale has brought past and the future together with the addition of a QR code on the historical sign on Main Street.
QR codes — also known as a quick read or quick response codes — are the white squares with seemingly random patterns of black squares and bars that have been appearing in magazines, in storefronts and even on cars lately.
When scanned by a smartphone outfitted with a free application called QR Reader, the codes can be turned in to numbers and letters, or in the case of the Clarkdale QR code, a link to a YouTube video depicting the 1928 Clarkdale bank robbery.
